Abdi Musa – Events Manager
Abdi Musa has been with the Somali Economic Forum (SEF) since its inception in 2011. Abdi Musa has played a critical role in organising the Somalia Investment Summit 2013, 2014 and the recent 2017 Somalia Investment Summit 2017. He has also led on organising various side events for SEF including a networking event at the Hilton in London. Abdi Musa has also worked with major international institutions such as the World Bank to hold SEF events such as the March 2014 Dar Salaam Remittance Summit and the Dakar World Bank and SEF Remittance Summit also in March 2014.
Abdi Musa is a Canadian who now lives in London and he holds a BA in Marketing and Strategic Communications from Toronto University, Canada.
Ayanle Yusuf - Financial Analyst
Ayanle Yusuf is a BSc Economics graduate from the School of Oriental & African Studies. Ayanle is also an ACA candidate and is close to completion. The ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, the ACA, is one of the most advanced learning and professional development programmes available. It is valued around the world in business, practice and the public sector. Ayanle has substantial experience working for the UK Treasury and the UK Government. Ayanle was an Auditor for Her Majesty’s National Audit Office where he worked extensively with the Department for Energy and Climate Change. Ayanle has also worked for Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC). His specialities include; Financial Statement Analysis, Fixed Assets Analysis, Cash flow, Bank Reconciliations and Accruals. His other key expertise includes providing economic analysis and Ayanle has also produced published reports such as the "Financial Services: Regulation, Redress and Advice Overview 2014" report and the "Maintaining Strategic Infrastructure: Roads" report
Bashir Ali - Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Bashir Ali is a BSc Economics graduate from the School of Oriental & African Studies. Bashir also possesses an MSc in Public Policy & Administration from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). Bashir has worked at a variety of organisations from the UK Civil Service to being an Analyst for Africa and the Middle East for various telecoms consultancies based in London. Bashir has developed expertise in forecasting, economic analysis, report writing and strategy consulting. His specialities include pricing strategies, product strategies and client segmentation strategies for multinationals. Bashir's main area of expertise includes telecoms in Africa & the Middle East as well as investment strategies. Bashir also worked with clients, specifically telecoms companies and formulated go-to-market strategies for entering key African markets enabling a client to achieve competitive advantage in their desired market. Bashir also has experience with both the B2C and B2B sides of consulting.
Guled Hersi – Finance Officer
Guled is the Finance Officer at the Somali Economic Forum (SEF). Guled’s principal role as Finance Officer is to ensure that the day to day running of SEF continues efficiently. Guled is also used as a Financial Analyst by SEF to manage the accounts of our clients and members during consulting engagements. As such Guled is a fully qualified Management Accountant having completed his ACA qualification in 2016.
Guled is based in London and he holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Cass Business School in London, UK.
